I'll be honest: I don't think ADAM - Artifical Defense Automation Module is a very good title for this game.

I thought it was going to be another 360-degree shooter in which you play a military robot shooting anything that moves.

Turns out, it's not - it's about a cute robot that's just trying to dodge hazards to get through life. It's almost adorable, actually.

You play as ADAM and move through an endless scrolling world full of dangers. You just need to make sure that ADAM doesn't bash into anything so that he remains alive.

What you must do, then, is to press the up and down arrows to shuffle the heights of his head and body. It's similar to the Gold Award-winning Mr Legs, in fact.

Pressing up extends ADAM's neck, while pressing down brings it back down again - simple. There is more, though.

A tweet on Asmodee Digital's feed has revealed that the company is looking for beta testers for the game on Steam and Android.

Unfortunately iOS users are going to be out of luck with this one, as Asmodee doesn't own the rights to the game on the App Store. Still, a new version of Carcassonne is definitely worth writing something about.

If you follow this link right here you'll be able to sign up to test the new game. You might not get chosen, but on the flip side of that, you might.

For those that don't know Carcassonne, it's a classic in board game circles. If that from him there may be aught applied
Snake Core, which was announced by OrangePixel a month ago, is now available for Android after previously releasing on iOS. The game is a nod to 'Snake' the classic Nokia game where you try and grow your snake by connecting dots.

As your snake grows and its length extends further it becomes much easier to crash into yourself. There wasn't really anything to fight, you just had to dodge your own body.

The concept in Snake Core is very similar, but instead of collecting dots, you're "recruiting" soldiers to add to your army. Adding to the soldier conga line makes you more dangerous because you'll be able to bash some alien skulls in.

Your goal is to grab as many soldiers as you can and march your way through a facility. As you progress, you'll encounter numerous enemies for you to deal with.

Once you finish off the enemies, then you will be greeted by the boss of the game, the Alien Overlord. They're not a particularly nice entity and wants nothing more than to give you trouble. So take your crew and show him who the real boss is, and then celebrate your hard-fought victory.

One of the neat things is that there are no two routes that are alike. Each one provides different paths to the Alien Overlord. This will make the experience unique every time, so the game should stay feeling fresh for while longer.

Also, Snake Core is really easy to pick up and play, so you don't have to worry about challenging yourself too hard if you want a more casual experience. If it's just one of those days that you want to beat the tar out of aliens, but want to do so with ease, then this is definitely a solid choice of game.

Snake Core is available on the App Store and Google Play for $2.99.
Enjoy action-packed games like Snake Core? Update on February 7th at 08:31: Malevolent Machines is, as expected, out now on iOS and Android for €/£/$1.99.
Time to kick some cyborg's butts.

We haven't really mentioned it yet but Malevolent Machines by Goodnight Games is an upcoming steampunk runner which looks pretty neat. Better yet, it's just released a new teaser trailer and now has an official release date.

At a glance you might not be particularly taken with the game, but its art style is truly cracking. Toeing the line between classic and slightly modern, the simplicity of the character design and the limited movement is what really does it for me.

Anyone who knows me also knows that I'm a story-driven kind-of gal, and this isn't your basic runner. Dr. Leyla Green faces some mechanical mishaps are her experiments go awry. Alongside her pet cyborg, it's time to take on the hordes of her own creation as she tries to reach her university lab.

Find out more about Malevolent Machines on its forum page here. Until then, the game is due out February 7th – the best day in my opinion, though I can't really tell you why. *wink*

In October last year we learnt that Framed 2 was in the making. Excitingly today we learnt that it'd be touching down on mobile this month.
